Description:

This project is going to take place on the main level of Aloha High School. Aloha High School was originally constructed in 1968 with several improvements over time. The school is currently comprised of 260,677 square feet of building space. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Work areas include: • Area 1 – Conversion of two unused culinary arts classrooms into a computer science classroom and a film & media classroom. Demolition of existing culinary arts work tables, cabinetry, ovens, and stoves. Asbestos remediation. Construction of new media green room. Upgrade IT connectivity, electrical service, replacement of existing HVAC system and ducting. New furniture, workbenches, room lighting, wall finishes, flooring, and ceiling. • Area 2 – Modify and reconfigure maker space with visual connection to adjacent classrooms. New work area in construction lab. Alterations to provide large storage space with casework to support the construction program. Improvements to electrical service and dust collection filtration system. HVAC system modifications for construction lab to avoid intake of auto shop exhaust fumes. Construction of new interior corridor to provide better access to CADD classroom. Existing shop equipment will be reused. • Area 3 – Construction of new corridor with permanent walls to provide hallway access to each classroom individually and to the offices and storage rooms. New exterior door for emergency egress will be provided at the end of the new corridor. Modification of the lighting system. New HVAC ducting system to support three separate rooms and to eliminate fresh air intake from the vicinity of the auto shop that causes noxious exhaust fumes to be drawn into the classroom on occasion. Please refer to plans and specifications. It is intended that the Contractor provides a complete project and coordinates work with the District, Contractors and Consultants hired by the District, and all applicable agencies having authority. a. Work to include supplying, storing and handling of all required materials. b. Work includes protection of neighboring finishes and replacement/repair of any damaged surfaces including, but not limited to ceiling tiles, wallboard, paint, insulation, concrete block, etc. c. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and other facilities and services as necessary and/or required to execute all of the Work. d. All work areas shall be cleaned of any construction debris on a daily basis. General Contractor is responsible for material removal and disposal. Provide dust control and HVAC protection as required to protect the rest of the school from construction debris. Upon completion of the project, the General Contractor is to provide final cleaning of all work installed, replaced or repaired including jobsite office.
